SPORTS SPECIALIST CHIROPRACTIC

By: November 10, 2012

Chiropractic is one of the largest primary contact regulated health care professions in Canada. A Chiropractor focuses on the diagnosis and treatment for disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

While all chiropractors receive some instruction in the management of sports injuries, a Sports Specialist Chiropractor undergoes substantially more training and clinical application through a two-year full time post graduate program and Fellowship Examination. There are approximately 100 Sports Specialist Chiropractors practicing across Canada and The Proactive Athlete employs 3 of them. Although our Chiropractors have additional training in sports injuries, we also treat any condition that a patient would normally present to a Chiropractor for.

Chiropractic visits at The Proactive Athlete include a comprehensive 60 minute initial visit, and 20-30 minute follow-up treatments one on one with your chiropractor that is catered to the needs and goals of each patient. Treatments may include, but are not limited to, joint manipulation and mobilization, soft tissue therapy (A.R.T), acupuncture, therapeutic exercise and physical therapy modalities.
