Project Description

The Chiropractors at The Proactive Athlete are primary healthcare professionals who have completed the Doctor of Chiropractic Program.  Our experienced chiropractors focus on the diagnosis and management of the musculoskeletal system (soft tissue, nerve, bones, joints) conditions.  They specialize in treating all regions of the body including the spine, shoulders, elbow, wrist, hands, knee, hips and feet.

Several of our Chiropractors are Sports Specialist Chiropractors, who have undergone an additional two-year full time post graduate program and Fellowship Examination to specialize in the diagnosis, management and treatment of athletic injuries. There are only approximately 100 Sports Specialist Chiropractors practicing across Canada.  For more info on Sports Chiropractic check out  http://www.rccssc.ca/

Our team of chiropractors collectively have decades of experience treating elite athletes including Olympic athletes and members of the NFL, CFL, NHL, AHL, NLL, PGA, CIS and NCAA.  We have also provided care at many local, provincial, national and international sporting events including the 2015 Pan Am Games.

Our team of chiropractors regularly work together with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, family physicians, physiotherapists, athletic therapists, massage therapists and strength and conditioning coaches to provide the most comprehensive and effective care for the patient.  Several of our chiropractors have conducted and published research and teach at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto.

Chiropractic visits at The Proactive Athlete include a 60 minute initial visit, and 20-30 minute follow-up treatments one on one with your chiropractor that is catered to the needs and goals of each patient. Treatments may include, but are not limited to, joint manipulation and mobilization, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, therapeutic exercise and physical therapy modalities.
