Dr. Kissel’s self professed first love is sports and he has dedicated his career to treating athletes at all levels. Dr. Kissel was a multi-sport athlete while growing up and followed this passion by attending the University of Western Ontario and then the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. To specialize in sports Dr. Kissel completed a sports sciences fellowship with the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences in 2011 for which he now volunteers his services as a committee chair. Sport is still important to Dr. Kissel both as a participant recreationally, and now as a sideline therapist at local, provincial, national and international events.
Dr. Kissel uses a multimodal therapeutic approach that is constantly evolving with the most important pillars being movement and therapeutic exercise. To Dr. Kissel, there is no question that the key to normalize any dysfunction is applied load/force and there is no better conduit then ones own body. Dr. Kissel also incorporates other forms of therapy such as manual therapy, and electro-acupuncture. He believes firmly in continuing education which continuously evolves his approach to care. He also is a contributor to the undergraduate education as a lecturer at the chiropractic college.
Outside of the office Pete and his sports chiropractor wife Jaclyn spend all of their time running after their toddler son Luke and infant daughter Maeve.
